The Council of Advanced Practice Nurses (CAPN) is excited to announce two $500 scholarship awards for graduate nursing students and APRNs pursuing doctoral study. Click here to apply!
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Enrolled in an accredited APRN program (MSN or DNP), OR be an actively licensed APRN enrolled in a Nursing PhD program (must provide APRN licensure/employment documentation).

Completed a minimum of 12 graduate credit hours.

If not yet completed, applicants must show proof of enrollment in good academic standing and include a faculty recommendation letter.

Hold a GPA > 3.0 and remain in good academic standing.

Reside or work in Leon or a neighboring county in Florida (Wakulla, Jefferson, Gadsden, Taylor, Franklin, Calhoun, Liberty) or Georgia (Thomas, Grady, Decatur, Brooks).

Not related in familial or financial capacity to a CAPN Scholarship Selection Committee member.
Awards

One (1) $500 scholarship exclusively for an active CAPN member.

One (1) $500 scholarship available to a CAPN member or non-member.
Application Requirements

Complete the Scholarship Application Form.

Submit an essay (≤ 500 words) on one of the following:
-
How you plan to use your advanced practice degree to promote community health and wellness.

If pursuing a DNP: Describe your Capstone project and its impact on patient care and nursing practice.

If pursuing a PhD or other doctoral degree: Describe past/current research or research interests, and how this work will promote health and wellness in the community.

Provide a current CV.

Provide an unofficial transcript of graduate coursework.

If applicable, include APRN license/proof of employment (PhD applicants).

If fewer than 12 graduate credit hours completed, provide documentation of enrollment, good standing, and a faculty recommendation letter.
Deadline: All applications must be submitted by November 15, 2025.
Selection: Winners will be chosen based on merit by an independent CAPN panel using a standardized point system. Winners will be notified by email and/or phone.
