Here is more info about the candidates:

Susan Alvarez, DNP, APRN, AGPCNP-BC

Dr. Susan Alvarez, DNP, APRN, AGPCNP-BC is a nationally certified Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. After completing her education at the University of Florida College of Nursing, she relocated to Tallahassee and has since been working full time in a Rheumatology specialty outpatient clinic servicing Tallahassee and the Big Bend region since 2016. She is a strong advocate for evidence-based medicine and holistic and compassionate patient care.

When she is not caring for patients, she has a passion for service, volunteering as CAPN Treasurer (2020/2021). As a CAPN board member, she was instrumental in supporting such initiatives such as student scholarship opportunities, the creation of a written history of the CAPN/APRN organization in the Big Bend Region as well as helping to establish a social media presence for the organization. She hopes, in this new role, to continue to grow the viability and visibility of APRNs and provide more opportunities to make Tallahassee healthier. She believes that united, there are few things Advanced Practice Nurses cannot accomplish for the wellbeing of a patient or a community.

In her spare time, she is an avid tennis player, captaining USTA tennis leagues and can be found outside hiking while enjoying the beautiful North Florida weather.

She is honored by the nomination for President-Elect and if selected, will lead with enthusiasm and integrity.
