Dear Advanced Practice Nurses,
In case you didn't know...Nurse Practitioner Week (11/10 to11/16) is nearly upon us! Our Florida Governor has issued a proclamation for that week (see attached). During this time, it is important for us to be present, visible and advocate for our profession.
Attached are some good facts from the American Association for Nurse Practitioners (AANP) to become familiar with and can serve as a discussion point between you and your non-healthcare peers.
Furthermore, the Tallahassee Council for Advanced Practice Nurses (CAPN) is looking for volunteers willing walk in the Veteran's Day parade (11/11/19), to be visible in the community and support our veterans. The Parade begins at 1040 AM, contact Susan Alvarez at salvarez1215@gmail.com for more information.
As a reminder, CAPN is our local (Tallahassee and surrounding areas) professional organization for Advanced Practice Nurses including Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Educators, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Midwives, Nurse Anesthetists, and more. The organization presents a unique opportunity for networking and furthering your education. If your membership has expired, now is a great time to renew, please visit our website (https://capntally.enpnetwork.com/) to find out more.
Best, and happy Nurse Practitioner Week!
