Dr. Jessica S. Bahorski is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Florida State University College of Nursing. She is a clinician, educator, and researcher. She has worked in primary care settings and school health as a pediatric nurse practitioner, as an educator in acute care pediatric settings, and a researcher on numerous studies. As a doctoral student, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham on multiple studies including one funded by the American Heart Association examining childhood body composition and metabolic health outcomes following intrauterine exposure to gestational diabetes or maternal obesity. Her research centers around the developmental origins of childhood obesity with a particular focus on infant feeding practices. She is also passionate about finding ways to help nurses understand best practices and translate research into clinical practice. 

Dr. Lisa Hall-Gardner is an Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Placement at Florida A&M University School of Nursing.  She is also a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in primary care.  For the past 20 years she has provided comprehensive primary care services to individuals ranging from college age young adults to uninsured and underinsured geriatric adults.  Dr. Gardner is a graduate of Florida A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.  She later obtained a Master of Science in Nursing in Concentration as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Florida State University.  As Dr. Gardner felt the urge to teach, she obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.  She has followed her passion by educating future health care providers and educating patients and the community about health issues and preventive care.
