CAPN 2016 Membership Message

Dear All,

First, thank you to each of you who have already joined or renewed your Tallahassee Area Council of Advanced Practice Nurses membership for 2016!

For those of you who are planning to join or renew soon, please take this opportunity to renew now, before our January 21st dinner meeting.

If you were planning to renew at the 1-21-2016 meeting by check, please go ahead and fill out the application form online and then bring your check to the dinner meeting (or, if not planning to attend that meeting, send the check to the address in the detail-message below. You may also, if you prefer, renew by credit card while online.

Below, please find the details you may need in order to join or renew your membership.

Membership in the Tallahassee Area Council of Advanced Practice Nurses (CAPN) runs from January 1st through December 31st of each year. Annual membership dues are $75 (Retired with or without current ARNP licensure, and entry-level Advanced Practice Student dues are $40). The Non-member dinner meeting fee is $20 ($10 Retirees and entry-level Advanced Practice Students). *Please see the "Eligibility for Membership" paragraph at this end of this announcement.*

Please be sure to fill out the online Application Form whether paying by check or credit card (please do so each year even if you have done so in the past, so that the contact information can be up-dated/confirmed).

*Eligibility for membership:
  • A. Full membership: Nurses "certified/licensed" as an ARNP/CNS/CNM/CRNA by the Florida State Board of Nursing and Nurse Educators.

  • B. Associate membership: Students currently enrolled in entry level graduate / doctoral programs with the primary purpose of this program being to prepare for advanced and or specialized nursing practice. Nurse Practitioners returning to school for an additional nursing specialty or DNP DO NOT qualify for student membership.

  • C. Associate membership retired: Retired nurses without continued certification or licensure as an ARNP/CNS/CNM/CRNA or Nurse educator.
